Throughout the month of May, the county is celebrating a series of recognition days and weeks to pay tribute to the health-care professionals, paramedics and support staff who continue to dedicate themselves towards meeting the ever growing needs of our residents, facilities, and communities each and every day. The county operates four long-term care homes and three seniors’ services campuses, with more than 1,000 staff, including registered nurses, registered practical nurses, nurse practitioners, and personal support workers, each of whom do an exceptional job delivering care to our residents, both directly and indirectly. Warden Basil Clarke has proclaimed May 8 to 14, 2023 as Nursing Week, in recognition of the exemplary work of the hundreds of steadfast and compassionate nurses who provide outstanding care to residents throughout the region.
